Diane Von Furstenburg Fall '11

This is one of my favorite collections from last week's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I love the bold colors/prints, the clashing texture combinations, and glam of this collection.
It's very mod and sophisticated with a hint edge.

Nude Patent Pumps!

So simple and chic, nude patent pump should be in every heel-wearing person's shoe collection. Not only does nude pumps do a great job at elongating the legs, but they are also great for toning down bright colors. They work with any complexion, height, occasion and body type. Whether peep toed, closed toed, platform, whatever you like, nude shoes will add a very girly touch to any outfit. I love them and I have yet to own a pair, but that may all change this weekend. Below are some pricing for nude pumps for all budget types.
Christian Louboutin: "Pantent P-T" $695
YSL: "Tribute Too" $195
Prada: "Patent" $650
L.A.M.B.: "Cahoot" $295
Steve Madden: "Kattrina" $40 (limited time only)
Jessica Simpson: "Waleo" $89

Spring in Winter

Although it's still winter, we've experienced some great weather on the east coast so here is a great way to play up warm weather favorites in the winter!

  • Take your favorite Spring/Summer skirt and pair it with the perfect stocking/tights.
  • Grab a cool knit sweater to add a more winter feel to the look; the combination of textures will add edge as well.  The crop sweater is a great item to have in your wardrobe because it works for every season. I'd wear mine in the fall and spring but the temperatures are usually in between, because also in the winter because it is a sweater (maybe with a cute tank underneath), and it even works on those cool summer nights.
  • Add cool accessories like a winter hat or scarf to play up the sweater you chose.
  • Finally, pull out your favorite boots.
The key to this technique is to be cool in the warm weather while still being dressed appropriately for the season. Usually on warm winter days the nights are cooler; this look prepares you for both warm and cool.

Style Star: Jessica Alba

Here's her most recent gig: The cover of Harper's Bazaar Magazine

Whether it's on the red carpet, magazines spreads, or candids "Honey" star Jessica Alba is always camera ready. She relates to the public well because she dresses down most of the time, wearing what would be considered comfortable for any working mom. She never gives too much or too little.

Red Carpet:
2011 BAFTA Awards
2010 Chanel Haute Couture show
12/2010 Little Fockers Premiere
2010 People's Choice Awards

Candid:

Alba's style reminds me of Katie Holmes. Very chic and pretty at all times.

Gianni Versace 676 Update

I ran across these not too long ago and fell madly in love with them.
These are the vintage Gianni Versace 676 Update sunglasses.
These shades run for almost 900USD many places but they are somewhat hard to come by.
I love them and will do what I have to do to find them and make them mine once and for all.
Lady GaGa loves them too!

All Of The Lights!

Here is the new video to Kanye West's latest single "All of the Lights." I love this video. It's concept is very simple and unique. The video is great for the Spring/Summer with it's vibrant colors and flashing lights. It puts emphasis on what we've seen on the runway this past week (NYFW), and that is bold, bright, fearlessENJOY.

Tending: Shearling

Whether its on last year's hot motorcycle jackets or attached to the hottest booties you could find, if you're rocking shearling then you are definitely in style.

I love boots with shearling and with the change of seasons approaching we can now find shoes like loafer and clogs with the very comfy material inside.

I love the aviator style jacket that has the shearling on the inside. This style can be found at a variety of stores in a range of prices starting at less than $100 to over $1000
Burberry
The great thing about this style is that it can be found in a host of styles, textures and colors.
Burberry
Nicky Hilton Muu Baa
Ciara in Helmut Lang Vest
I have seen less expensive versions of this style at:
  • forever21.com
  • urbanoutfitters.com
  • nastygal.com
Don't be discouraged by the soon change is seasons. This is a recurring trend that will never get old.
