Be inspired

I have always loved the way I dressed; whatever was trendy I usually had because I stayed on top of things and was usually one of the first in my neighborhood to take that step. Fall '08 was a huge fashion milestone for me because that is when I was able to prove to myself that I was different from everyone else and had a mind and style of my own beyond the trends. This was the time of my sweet 16 and I was able to design my own pieces and get them tailored to perfection, by an untrained yet awesome friend, for the event. Many of the pieces I wore were inspired by a certain look, but none, exactly the same.
To be inspired is to take an already established idea and use it to motivate, create, and execute your own. (That is exactly what I did at the tender age of 15 years old.)


Fall 2008

This was my interpretation of Blake Lively's little black dress. 

Similarities:-bands around waist and thigh

                   -frill trimming around each band

                   -lace overlay w/ fabric under 

                   -length of dress

There are many differences to the dresses, like the color and top.

This was my interpretation of Rihanna's 2008 Grammy dress.

Similarities: -color

                   -feathers 

                   -corseted top 

                   -detachable belt  

                   -fabric

I wish the quality of the picture was better so you could see the detailed stitching of the corseted top I wore.

As you can see, I took two very established ideas and created my own, which are very distinguishable and looks almost nothing like the originals. These are looks that I can call my own because there were none exactly like it before. 

Name Change!!

I have been thinking really hard and I have decided to change my name. I've gone by Bella for years (since myspace) but there are Bellas everywhere now (as far as social networking) so I decided to take on a little something different.

I would really really love to go by Co-Co buuuuut I know that's not gonna happen lol so I have to settle and stick with Bella, but add my own little twist. My tumblr name is Miss Bella Caramella and I thought of it because my complexion can be described as somewhat caramel, and everyone loves caramel (except me) lol but I do love the sound of it.

I wanted a name that could be converted for whatever social networks I decide to join, and that is also easy to find, pronounce, and spell. Bella Caramella is very catchy; it is something that will be remembered, and because these are two actual Italian words, it makes it a lot more easier to search if forgotten. My twitter is still unsatisfactory for me but I will figure something out. It's not bad, I just think I can do better. I hope you guys like the changes and this will definitely help me in being more satisfied and consistent with my blog.

I will be using the acronym BBC quite often, which is short for my blog title. BBC is also the acronym used by the Billionaire Boys Club (i love them).

Im Back Again

Hey guys! OK so I just noticed that I haven't posted for about a month now which is terrible!! I know, I know. The fact that I have been having so many others things on my plate and that I don't know what type of blog I want, personal or fashion, are the reasons why I haven't been posting. I want to have a fashion blog because that was the point of my blog from the beginning, but I also want a personal because I have soooo much to talk about lol. I'm also thinking about changing my blog's name, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we reach it. There are many drafts that are pretty much ready to be posted so I will post them within the next couple of days. Bare with me people!

Photographer?...Maybe

OK so I have decided that I do want to take my blog more than seriously. My friends and I play around with my camera a lot and some shots are really good but they would be great if I had a professional camera. My plans are to buy a nice Nikon or the sorts to take great pics on since I take pics so much. I want one that is high quality and resolution while still being able to fit in my bag with no problem (I don't wear little bags too often).

Having a good camera simply allows people like me, who see pretty things and want to capture them or tries to take model'ish pics from time to time, actually do so.


P.S. I wonder if there is camera that takes great pics and records videos without being big and camcorder looking lol. I'm sure it is with all the new technology that is out; I'll just have to look into it I guess.
